1. Who We Are

MathCrown operates the platform at mymathcrown.com — a K-12 competitive math learning platform. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children under 13.

2. Information We Collect

When you register we collect: first name, last name, grade level, date of birth, email address, and password. We also collect gameplay data (scores, battles, time spent) used solely to improve your learning experience.

Parents/Guardians: email address, password, and child account link code.

3. COPPA — Children Under 13

MathCrown complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). For children under 13:

• We require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information.
• Parents may review, edit, or delete their child's data at any time by emailing [email protected].
• We do not serve behavioral advertising to children under 13.
• We never sell, rent, or share children's personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
• Children's accounts are linked to a parent account for oversight and prize redemption.

• To send account-related emails (password reset, weekly reports)

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore) with enterprise-grade encryption in transit and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure login and never store plain-text passwords.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using MathCrown at mymathcrown.com, you agree to these Terms. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must agree on your behalf. If you do not agree, do not use MathCrown.

2. Eligibility

MathCrown is designed for students in grades K-12 and their parents or guardians. Students under 13 must have a parent or guardian create or approve their account.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You may not share your account or create multiple accounts.
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use cheats, bots, or automated tools to gain unfair advantages
• Harass, bully, or intimidate other students
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Use MathCrown for any commercial purpose without written consent
• Reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute MathCrown's content or code

5. MathCoins and Prizes

• MathCoins are virtual rewards with no real monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash directly.
• Prize redemptions are processed through verified parent accounts only.
• Prizes obtained through cheating will be forfeited and the account suspended.
• MathCrown reserves the right to adjust the prize system at any time.

6. AI Tutor — Axiom

Axiom is powered by Claude (Anthropic) and is intended for educational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, AI responses may occasionally contain errors. Always verify important concepts with a qualified teacher.

7. Intellectual Property

All MathCrown content — including the name, logo, crown design, question bank, and software — is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without written permission.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

MathCrown offers a free tier and optional paid plans. Refunds are available within 7 days of first purchase. Subscription fees are non-refundable after the 7-day window.

9. Disclaimers

MathCrown is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or specific educational outcomes. MathCrown is a supplemental learning tool, not a substitute for formal education.

10. Termination

We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Your data is deleted within 30 days.
